Exterior Services
Wheel and Tire Cleaning
Every detail begins at the bottom. Your wheels, tires, and wheel wells are rinsed and cleaned with a dedicated wheel soap from a dedicated wheel bucket. Wheels pick up the worst of the road — and a dedicated wheel soap is specifically formulated to be more aggressive against the dirt and grime built up over time, while being gentle on brakes and rotors.
Hand Wash
The decontamination process begins with a rinse of the entire vehicle, top to bottom. We work top to bottom so all the dirt flows downwards, off the car. This avoids adding any unnecessary micro-level scratching on your vehicle’s paint. We then hand wash your car utilizing the two-bucket method to get the majority of dirt off of it
Chemical Decontamination
After the wash, your vehicle may still have contaminants such as iron oxide particles, which will need to be removed prior to any following steps, especially on wheels, where brake dust may build up. For this, we use a chemical spray, let it work, and rinse it off.
Mechanical Decontamination
If any paint correction is going to be performed, we must be certain all foreign contaminants are completely removed. Only as necessary, we will use a lubricated ‘clay’ product that will lift the rest of the grime off the paint. All of this is followed by a rinse of the lubricants.
Glass
After decontamination, your glass is cleaned to a streak-free finish, ready for the road, or a last-step product of your choice.
Paint Correction
If your vehicle has any light scratches, swirl marks, or hazing over — you will need either compounding or polishing of its topcoat. These take minimal amounts of topcoat off, removing some markings, and rounding off edges of others, leaving a smooth, reflective coating that’s ready for a last-step product.
Last-Step Product
This is the final step of an exterior detail. This is an added layer of protection for your paint, and adds a sheen and glow that your vehicle hasn’t seen since its factory finish. These products are waxes, sealants, hybrids of both, and coatings. Each individual product has different uses, as well as different lifespans after use — anywhere from a few weeks to a few years, based on manufacturer suggestions.
Now, to keep the LSP looking fresh as the day it was applied — the car should get interval washes every couple of weeks. This does not include going to the car wash, which will introduce your car to more scratching and swirls from large machines filled with microscopic gunk. Keeping your paint clean is the best way to elongate the life of your LSP.
Rinsless Washes
When no hose access is possible, we bring the water to you! Using a soap designed to be wiped on and off, we'll bring the same quality wash to your car in any setting possible.
